Summary:
TB has rivaled HIV/AIDS as a leading cause of death from infectious disease for the first time. HIV/AIDS has been killing 1.2 million people globally, and it has 400000 people were infected with both HIV and TB. This report states that people have gained access to HIV/AIDS treatment in the past 10 years which helped many people survive their infections. However, it has disparity between HIV/AIDS and TB about the funding. The 8 billion dollars is spent on HIV/AIDS interventions, and only 800000 dollars spent on TB which reflects the funding for HIV/AIDS is ten times higher than TB. The reason why it has a huge gap between the funding is because the places that have a higher rate of HIV/AIDS are usually poor countries, thus they do not have the ability to help curing the people with disease. The places have higher rate of TB presence are India and China, these countries they are better able to finance their own domestic efforts to address TB infections. Even though TB is a curable infectious disease but the death rate still remains really high and among the estimated 480,000 cases of multi-drug resistant TB in 2014, only one in four was diagnosed.

Reflection:
The interesting part in this article is the death rate of TB remains high and becomes a leading cause of death from infectious diseases even though it is a curable disease. The countries have high presence rate of TB are India and China which reflects the air quality of these 2 places, I believe the treatment should not be the ultimate solution for TB, the final method is to improve the air quality because that is what causes people to have the disease partially. I think we should have more funding to support the research and treatment of TB. We also need to do more advertisements thus people can be aware of this infectious disease. Although, the death rate of HIV/AIDS has drastically decreased, we still need to work on it more.
